I'm all for Your idea. We need something new and exciting! We need something to stand out more. During past months the server goes empty earlier than usually.

Yea, I would love if we got new maps to the server. Because Like you said Apple the server get empty so fast. I have been in does situations many times this month.

If we get breakfloor maps that no one else has then the population will grow.

And that guy Ghost see if he can do some maps? He is already working on another map. But see if he can do 2 fun maps :)

I agree, by just being active on 2 days on almost a year I can tell you that it empties pretty fast - In some minutes it's half-filled again. We've always gotten these maps, this admin system and plugins.
I'm not complaining on Doggie in any way, I'm just pointing out what I know is true - It is time for a change, maybe not now, but very soon. Some new maps that you don't get tired of fast. Upgrading to SourceMod 3.0 featuring SourceBans (bans.dream-evil.com) would be great, with new plugins like the "Ban Disconnected Player" plugin (http://tiny.cc/tltb, also compatible with SourceBans) which would be in good use here, even though it has existed for a long while. I can't think of other plugins right now, but there's alot of them but we shouldn't use too "fancy" plugins that scares away regulars.

I also saw that the server sometimes experience major lag; This didn't happen before - even with 6 players, the server was freezing.

Server lags and freezes on round ends a lot. It is not just me, other people have addressed me with the same problem!

Yes these maps get pretty bored. New maps are necessary if we want more people on our server! :)
This major lagg is pretty annoying too, yes. I guess this can be solved with some security software shizzle?

me 2, at the beginning of the rounds i
lagg as hell:(.
i think it's true what you are saying evil, you and i have
talked abouth it another time, and i saw ont he internet
that there are enough breakfloor maps, so if doggie only wants to do breakfloor
there are a lot of different options:).
so let us know what you think abouth it doggie;)

The lag issue is a weird one - it is one which I thought I was the only one getting. After my holidays I will do an overhaul on the server, perhaps upgrading SourceMod and installing a couple of new plugins or so. To be perfectly honest with you, I am suspecting the 1.6-server is causing our problems. The server, being very popular and running a fairly large map, does hog a lot of bandwidth and resources off the Source server. I will look into possible solutions to this.

I got a few ideas:

How about a different map then Breakfloor ( Once a few hours? )
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/7632

And some breakfloor maps:
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/42415 <- Breakfloor
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/47918 <- breakfloor
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/120784 <- Breakfloor

Whitetiger's thoughts are awesome, although they don't help with the lag.

Is the 1.6 server set to run on a different core to the CS:S server? You might be able to help the lag a bit by running only CS:S on core 1, and 1.6/all other background programs on core 0. The current hardware shouldn't be causing lagging!! The website is hosted on a different server altogether isn't it?

However, a few new plugins (and SourceMod) would be great! :)

Weird, I never experience any lagg issues. Sometimes at the start of a round.
