Penalty for ghosting

Post by Scoarden »

Sometimes there is a problem on the 2k4 server, ghosting.
Its not really a cheat, but its the same unfair action.
So how could you react to ghosting?

If it is provable then I suggest we do weekly bans for it!

then it should be a good idea, to copy the message-history. then we would have a proove.

Still, saying "Go on Skype", and two rounds later having better score, isn't a bannable offense.

i know that kickfoot. But however when they say Go skype and the other says ok, then 2 rounds later they both have totally changed and know where every one is! Then it will be more bannable! :=)

I'm also thinking about what shall the admin do when they're NOT saying: "go skype". Then it's WAY much harder to see if it's ghosting or just well, hide wallhack. But I think as you, one week ban is the best opinion for ghosting =D

vobblarN^, I know you are new but for some time ago we decided that we could specc both T and CT so the admins can see cheaters even when are playing

Ghosting happens on breakfloor too, which Is why I prefer the global microphone chat instead of only team chat.
This is arguable though

Hmm. I dunno if you could set that only people with admin rights can specc both teams, that would might help the problem

Let's not revive this old thread, shall we? The matter has been discussed and it has been decided that it is too difficult to enforce a penalty for ghosting because it is so hard to spot them. If someone plays like they know where people are, chances are they either wallhack or ghost - a bannable offence, of course.
