Should we Reset the Counter-Strike: Source Stats?

Hello everyone!

I quickly wanted to hear your opinion about the following:
Should we reset the stats of the Counter-Strike: Source server as a nice start for players joining in the summer?

I reckon a lot of us will have more time to play now than ever, perhaps it therefore is more fair to reset the stats and let everyone have an equal chance of getting in the top 100?

Let me know what you think, I will leave the poll open until the 15th of June.

I vote yeah, its pretty impossible for new players or players who play regularly on the server to get into the top 10 if not top 20.

I vote for yes. Some people have played a lot before, but are never online. Hard to catch up with people like Pung
But anyway, would you all like the idea of a 3-monthly-reset?

I am for the idea to reset the stats now, but I hate the idea of resetting them every 3 months. I myself do not play for the stats anymore, so I would be happy to see new names shine in the top rather than Pung and me only ! Yeah, I just egoed (nice word)!

i disagree too! i only would like to reset stats of player, who are banned or dont even play anymore on rats.

I think a reset would be a good idea. As you said, a lot more of us will be playing now we have free time, and now the server is working efficiently (or better than it was previously) and new maps will be coming etc, it will be good to have a new start.

I think it's an bad idea not that I will lose my rank 1 but everything I have fought for will just disappear. I haven't like played to get rank 1 to be beaten over a reset and I know what you will say and that is to get rank one again, but I have almost 100k points. But as it seams I will loose this fight.

Then one question is it just the points and the K/D that will be reset?

As stated in the topic title, the vote and its discussion belongs to the Source-server - not the 1.6 server. We can discuss what to do with the 1.6 stats in a separate discussion later on - for now, though, the 1.6 stats will stay as they are.

I think you're missing out on a few things, first and foremost that by fighting your way up to number 1, you have contributed so much to the community by being active, helpful and mature on the server. That will never disappear, nor will our appreciation for you and those who are loyal and friendly towards the server. The stats are only stats, if you'd like we could set up a Hall of Fame or something like that, where the top 10 players before every reset get their names and points posted. How does that sound?
I don't want to go through with a reset if somebody greatly dislikes the idea, so I'd love to discuss the matter with you and come up with a solution .

It is the entire statistics that will be reset, meaning points, K/D, accuracy, etc.

As that doesn't affect the rankings, we can choose to keep it if nobody is against it!
