I recommend starting with FL Studio (9). It took me 2 years to gain the knowledge about this program, so you'll have to be patient!

It is the original website! But you can't download a full version there, because it costs about.. 500 €. I recommend The Pirate Bay!

I can agree with you, it really has potential! It just need something to fill it out, I'm not sure what at the moment though.
